About Taizé Prayer: This contemplative form of prayer comes from the Ecumenical community of Taizé, France. In 1940, Roger Schutz, settled in this tiny village where he offered shelter and hiding for political refugees. At the same time he gathered around him a few men from Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox traditions. Today the Taizé community numbers more than one hundred from more than twenty-five cultures.
